Glad you made it home safely. It will be interesting to hear what they say about the base plate. Still, it sounds like an amazing trip (before the base plate issue), with lots of family time.

The Garmin RV 780 GPS is designed for truckers but works equally well for RVers with long rigs. You program in the length of the tow vehicle and the trailer and it adjusts the route accordingly so you do not get into a place where a tight turn is required or a U-turn without enough room. It is now selling for only $300.

I like using The Garmin RV GPS as I can mount it to the lower left corner of the windshield where it is much easier to monitor while still keeping my eyes on the road ahead.

Thanks Elkman. My OEM built-in GPS does fine at keeping me out of trouble... usually. Unfortunately, no GPS can warn you not to make a U-Turn in a gas station parking lot that has a panel truck sticking out at the end of a turn.
