Any Recommendations for Wisconsin area Sites?

Hello. We are trying to plan out a couple trips this Spring/Summer. We live in central Illinois and love the Door County area of Wisconsin. Has anyone stayed either in Door County or on Lake Michigan (Wisconsin Side) and can recommend any campgrounds in those areas. Thanks alot.

For Door County I recommend Wagon Trail Campground. Large level sites.

This is a beautiful park right on the shores of Lake Michigan.

We stayed at Egg Harbor Campground this past fall and were happy with our site. The CG was a good location for everything we wanted to do there.

I second the suggestion for Wagon Trail. We have had e a seasonal site there since 2009. Wonderful owners, bathrooms are cleaned several times a day. Sites are wooded and level. Its on the "lake side" of the peninsula, so a bit more quiet than the bay side. Tell them Paul sent you,.

one more idea, we have camped at Point Beach State Forest as well, on Lake Michigan. More rustic than Wagon Trail and not really near Door County, but nice.

Yes, I agree, we have stayed at CGs on the north end of the peninsula and also on the Lake side. The north end was just too far away from any activity although it was a really nice CG. The lake side is also quite a drive from what we wanted to do. Most of our activity centers around Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, and Ephraim. We also always attend the Peninsula Players at least once a trip which is close by.

We have stayed at Bailey's Harbor, but little goes on there, although there are some good restaurants on the Lake Side.
