Campsites recommendations needed

We are from St Louis and planning a long trip (3 weeks)this Fall.
We will be traveling through the states of Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Kansas . We plan to stay somewhere close to the Interstate Highways. We also prefer to camp on public campgrounds. We would welcome any Campground suggestions and recommendations in these States. Thanks.

State parks are always a good bet but don't expect to find them too close to larger cities. State park information can usually be found online and you can, if you wish, make reservations. You are not likely to find state park campsites with 50 amp and full hookups but most have 30 amp, water, and a dump station. Since campsites fill up early these days, it is not too early to start making reservations.

If you are military or retired military, FamCamps are also a good bet - if you can get a site.

Take a look at Allstays.com (also get the app for your smartphone). You find campgrounds by looking at a map of the area. Links to campground websites and reviews make it easy to plan a trip.
