Here’s a trip report on our travel around the Cascade Loop in August.

That moss covered root looked almost like something you'd see over in the Olympics on the coast.

I was confusing your trip with the Mountain Loop Highway, which is south of your loop, and smaller. It goes through Oso where they had that massive landslide a few years ago. I haven't been there for about two years now, but it was a pretty incredible sight when I did go through.

Sounds like I need to add the Mountain Loop to my list. Thanks for the tip!
Yes, Grandy Creek is much more green and wet than the rest of the cascade Loop.

I would not take a 35 RV on the full Mt Loop Highway - the middle 15 miles, from south of Darrington to Barlow Pass is unpaved and fairly narrow. Very scenic, but best done in a SUV or (my favorite) ADV motorcycle. It's also closed for most of the winter - as will be the North Cascade Hwy soon.

The cascade Loop has a different route and all good roads. It’s 20 to 153 to 97 to 2 to 525 and back to 20. Here’s the map from the cascade Loop web site.

oops. You were preferring to GoodSpike’s post about the Mountain Loop, and not the Cascade Loop. Thanks for the advice.
