Mt Maxwell

Stiff hike but worth the effort for our old bones. There are some places that leave you in awe and Mt Maxwell is one of them. Bald Eagles use the thermals here when the salmon show up and fish the tidal rip in between Salt Spring and Vancouver Island. There is still a small patch of old growth at the very top of the hill and the trail to the bluff is a must see.

Salt Spring Island BC. No camping but a truly great day hike if you are on the island elsewhere.
