Any breakaway switch will work, but the usual less expensive ones sold for a trailer with electric brakes just have wire ends - they don't come with the mini plug that will match the Blue Ox breakaway plug socket. You can just buy an cable with mini plugs on one end, cut other end off and splice to the 2 wire run going to the breakaway switch.
Make sure NOT to get a 3 circuit cable made for stereo audio. You want a 2 circuit cable.
Breakaway switch is open circuit when normal, and short circuit if the plunger is pulled out so it is very straight forward to wire. Just a straight 2 wire run between the breakaway switch and the plug that goes into the brake buddy.
