Jeep gladiator
I have a 2019 Winnebago Adventurer 33C Class A and I would like to know if anyone is towing a JEEP GLADIATOR behind a V!0? Ny issues or concerns? The Jeep will be EMPTY and it will only be my wife and I in the RV. I welcome your comments.

I saw on the parent site irv2 .com that there was a question about towing them a few months back. You might want to search over there. It didn't sound like people had issues. I saw one setup to tow at a park in Florida recently. I'll be interested in hearing how it goes.

Baseplates are available and others are doing it.

However, they can be slightly over 5000lbs depending on the model, The Adventurer hitch is a 5000 lb rated hitch. You might want to have the stock hitch removed and a new higher rated hitch installed. There are plenty of folks that have found a 5,000lb hitch to be not the strongest.
Also, you'll want to get the entire rig weighed to be sure you're not overweight. Just get the CAT Scale "Weigh My Truck" app for your phone. Set it up at home on a computer and enter your credit card info. Then when you're on the road, full tank of gas, ready to camp and the toad attached just stop at a CAT Scale at a truck stop and you can weigh the whole rig all at once without getting out of the rv using the app.
As long as you come in under the total GVRW for the chassis you're all good.
We pull a 4400 lb Lincoln MKX behind our 37' Adventurer and it pulls fine. Our chassis is rated at 30,000 lbs and when all connected, topped up and all on board for a camping trip we weighed a tiny bit over 28,000 lbs.

I may be misreading your post. Is it indicating that the GVWR includes the trailer? GVWR does not include trailer as indicated on the quote I picked up off the web. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gross_..._weight_rating
"The gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), or gross vehicle mass (GVM) is the maximum operating weight/mass of a vehicle as specified by the manufacturer including the vehicle's chassis, body, engine, engine fluids, fuel, accessories, driver, passengers and cargo but excluding that of any trailers. The term is used for motor vehicles and trains."
I hope this will clear up any misconceptions. Happy camping, someday...

We have a 2016 Jeep Wrangler unlimited and a Winnebago 2016 26he. Same motor. No issues at all towing it thousands of miles. We use Blue Ox tow bar and baseplate and the Brake Buddy braking system. Your Gladiator should be similar.

You are correct in noting that the OE 5,000 lbs trailer hitch assy may not be the strongest. In 2018 - On our 2005 Adventurer - after crossing the US towing our Honda CRV - - I noticed that the entire hitch & towbar was angled down about 20 degrees - used to be level with the coach. So crawled under there and examined, and found that steel plate side panels (to which the 2" square hitch crossbar was welded to) were both bent and warped from the weight and force of braking (even though TOAD has it's own braking system).
Luckily the entire hitch assy was only bolted on to rear frame rails by 6 bolts, so I removed the entire unit and took it to a local welding shop where they duplicated the entire hitch assy using thicker slide plates as well as adding re-enforcing gussets. That guy did a fantastic job in building a much stronger assy. I painted the entire unit with 2 coats of POR-15 and re-installed. Hitch assy now rock solid and we have continued towing all over the US since.

We just purchased a 2020 Wrangler (basically the same vehicle as the Gladiator) that we plan to flat tow. Jeeps are all set up for it. Put the transfer case in Neutral and the transmission in Park. You are all set assuming your hitch, etc. is up to snuff.

Does this help? The two door will be less. Both will go over 5K if you load them with stuff.
I have a 2016 Via with the Mercedes turbo diesel pulling a two door 2019 Rubi. I selected the two door to make sure I don't go over 5K. Using Roadmaster base plate with ReadyBrake, works great. I like the ReadyBrake because it is mechanical, no electronics to fail. Loving the Via, Rubicon and the tow system...
