2005 Sightseer 29R Instrument Cluster - Help ASAP

Hi all, new here so hope this is the correct location for this question.

Have a 2005 Sightseer V10 workhorse. Getting the RV ready fir a trip to MI from TX, while driving it to fill up the tanks I noticed the speedometer has not working. All the other gauges are working (RPM, Fuel, Temp, Battery, Oil pressure and mileage and trip number turn). Do I need to order a whole new instrument cluster or can I fix just the speedometer or is it the electronic connector at the transmission?wheel? If need to order a new one where can I get it from with overnight shipping, leaving in 4 days.

Also anther question, can the speed governor be removed or increased? Currently set at 75 would like to have it at least 85. Professional Alaska truck driver so I can handle her.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you,
Todd

Sorry, but I had to ask because I've never heard of a Ford V10 "workhorse", except maybe as a metaphorical reference to the strength of the engine and the HP/torque of the 6.8L V10 Triton. The workhorse reference usually appears when talking about GM's 8.1L Vortec V8 engine and Allison transmission. The badging actually says "Workhorse" on the GM chassis, as opposed to the blue oval or V10 badging on the Ford.

Yea, left off the chassis part in my original post. Have seen that before about Chevy V-8 package but it is what it says on the paperwork V-10 Triton Workhorse Chassis.

Read on that forum you sent where Skip426 says, "if you have a V-10 you don't have a Workhorse Chassis", well not according to my paperwork unless I have a one-off Winnie specialty model! lol

But we all know Ford is better, so it sounds better! LOL

Just a thought - Reporting the mileage at the time of sale is a requirement in most states. Could it therefore be a legal requirement/warranty issue for Ford?

Most likely not but had to ask.

(Mine is one year newer. Keep in touch)

Been on several trips since I bought her everything worked 3 months ago when I parked her. Diff no warranty factory available for her being 14 years ago but only 26,000 miles.

Icetman: Just as a point of information Workhorse Chassis are GM Chevy.
You have a Ford F53 V-10 Triton like mine.
My speedo went out at just 25k miles
Ford clusters are notorious for this problem.
They can be repaired.
Im not sure where new clusters can be bought.
I am fortunate to have an electronics shop that fixed mine in a day. This was the second repair. Ford clusters suck. If you are in a pinch, i downloaded a speedometer app on my iPhone. It uses GPS to determine speed. I just layed my phone in front of the speedometer and used that until i got mine fixed.
Good luck!

Are you sure that the VSS is working?
A check of the OBD-II port when moving is a good start. If it isn't working, a code is usually set. (P0500).

Speedometer went out on our cluster while on the road, so the traveling speed on our GPS program was used to monitor our speed. After returning home removed the cluster and took it to Commercial Speedometer in West Sacramento, CA, 916-371-5873. They have clusters needing repair that also come in by mail and are returned by mail. All stepper motors were replaced and the cluster looked brand new when done. This shop has been in business forever, going back to the day of pre-electronic clusters. The business is now run by the sons of the original owner. A phone call to them will tell you what the cost might be.

Google "repair Ford instrument cluster" and there will be lots of hits showing repair facilities and YouTube videos on how to do it yourself if you are so inclined.
