There is no "switch" to turn it on; it is always on. When you dock the radios into the unit, they automatically start charging. There is an inline fuse, pull the unit out (4 screws, 1 @ each corner) and check that.
Mine was not working when we bought our 2004 Itasca. I checked the fuse and it was OK, so the unit was bad, although the walkies were good (albeit old and low power). Amazingly, I was able to find another docking station at an RV salvage yard for $10, and it worked!
