Campgrounds Door County, Wi.

We are planning to visit Door County, Wi over the Columbus Day Weekend. It has been several years since our last visit and we have upgraded to a newer coach, which, (while nicer), can use more utilities than the old one.

We previously stayed at Path O Pines in Fish Creek and may go there again, but what is available these days?

We would like full hookups with 50 amps, but researching available campgrounds we aren't finding a lot of those. Would also like to be near Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, Baily's Harbor ect. Any of those areas would be nice.

Wife likes campfires so that would be nice. We do have Sat TV but that is not a game changer.

Anyone else planning to be there at that time?

We always tow a car and like to tour the Peninsula and will definitely go see a play at the Peninsula Players.

Any suggestions will be welcomed.

October should not require any A/C, so 30 amp should work fine.

you might be too late the Pumpkin festival is in Egg harbor that weekend. We were there last year and could not get the full weekend. Most campgrounds will close that weekend. We have stayed twice at the Wagon Trail in Ellison

We have stayed in Door County a fair amount, and prefer Bailey's Grove just outside Bailey's Harbor. I believe it is pretty highly rated.

We have stayed there years ago and it was nice, but it's really a long way from the Eastern Shore where most of the activities are.

We always liked the Wagon Trail. It's farther up the peninsula than any of those towns you mentioned, but an easy day trip to most any part of the "Door". It tends to be very quiet. They are full hookup but have limited sites for the really big rigs. We have been there with our current 43' coach and were parked on one of the sites next to the office/restroom building.

There's a hotel/restaurant complex within walking distance of the same name (different management). We like both the restaurant and the bakery there. There's also a small marina at the hotel complex.

That sounds pretty good. I'll check into it.

Thanks.
