Converting Class C front seats to swivel
We have a 2014 Class C - E450 Ford. Would like to find out any info on converting the front passenger (and may drivers as well) seat to a swivel type seat.
It is a Minnie Winnie 31KP.
Any ideas appreciated.

Ford and Winnebago can't legally change Class C seats to swivel. Ford does not safety certify their E450 with swivel seats and that vehicle type must be Federal Saftey certified. That said, it could be done if you buy generic swivel bases and drill them to match the Winnebago seat bolt patterns. I used to own a 2008 Itasca Cambria and considered it but decided not to due to the fact it would be saftey non-compliant and I thought that could be a problem selling it when I was done with it. If you still want to look into doing it check out https://www.discountvantruck.com/rvv...nseatbases.htm

One other thing, it looked when eye-balling changing the seats to swivel that it would be impossible to do the driver's seat, it just would not have the clearances needed to swivel around. Passenger side, it looked like it could be done.

I have a Minnie Winnie 22R and I would love to have at least the passenger seat to swivel. But, there's not enough clearance even for the passenger seat to make it work. S.O.L., I'm afraid.

Take a look at the 2016 Itasca Cambria. It is a Ford E-450 cab with swivel seats. Perhaps contacting Winnebago or your dealer you might be able to purchase the seat bases to make yours swivel. Winnebago has a parts and accessories catalog online but it hasn't been updated since 2008.

Very good idea - I did not know the Cambria has swivel seats but they sure do. Is there a step down in the Cambria like the Minnie Winnie?
Thanks

My old RV was a 2011 Cambria and I remember the very next year they offered swivel seat. I just looked at the brochures for 2012-2016 and it appears to be the same drop down. The seats in 2012 looked like they were a bit higher (an inch or two) off the floor when swiveled around while the 2016's appear to be just above the floor. Might just be the angle of photo or simply height adjustment. Nonetheless being the same frame the floor levels have to be very similar.

This is an old thread I realize but I just stumbled on it. You can put swivel seat bases in any Ford van cab and they are perfectly safe, don't change the height and will clear everything if you get the right ones. They install easily in about 30 minutes with no drilling or fabrication. The ones from DiscountVanTruck work well and I have put them in a few vans and now my E450 (Itasca) RV. You want the 8th one down on this page, or more easily, the second item from the bottom. I can't link them directly the way their antiquated website is designed. Anyway, prepare to wait for them. They are very slow and their customer service is horrible:
Ford Van Seat Bases, driver, passenger seat bases
If you want to pay a little more but get them quicker with much better customer service get them from Sportsmobile:
Ford Swivel Seat Base
They will all work unless you have power seats, however even with the regular seat you will have to route the one wire/clip from the seat belt through the base where you can swivel without it binding. On the older vans there was less wire to work with but my 05 E450 had plenty to of wire to avoid binding.
Hope this helps!

Hi there, did you ever install the swivel on the passenger seat? I've got a 31KP and interested in doing the same thing.
