Can any one tell me where to get the cord that they use in the shades?

Did you look through the Winnebago Parts and Accessories Catalog? I did a quick search and found lots of parts available; maybe it's listed there.

Thanks but I was looking for some thing that would hold up better. I bought some 80# Dacron fishing line. It is the same diameter as the original.

big Ben...When you go to restring your shades check the plastic grommets that shield the string from rubbing directly against the metal of the shades. Those grommets sometimes have been found to be installed upside down and as such do not stop the string from chafeing and then breaking.
fun having those types shades!xxxcdfszxd!!!!!

I bought my cord from the local drapery store. I bought enough for one shade for about $6.00. Size (diameter) is not critical as all the cords are plenty strong for our shades. Color is not really critical either as long as it is near the shade color.

So far I have restrung three shades.

Take a look at www.fixmyblinds.com. They offer a complete line of restringing supplies with instructions. We bought string one size larger that the original.

I got it done today. I bought 300 yds. of Dacron fishing line for $20. Use a piece of copper wire to fish the fishing line through the holes.
Real the only difficult part is putting them back up. Thanks for all the suggestions.
