We posted on the same subject a couple of days ago. March 4. Had one response. Another person interested in how to.
I am leaning toward fastening with self tapping screws into the roof to wall extrusion. Usually on this forum you'll get a couple of "go for it"s, a couple of "not a good idea"s a a few talking about something else entirely
.
Given that, in the next couple of days, I intend to start installing with screws. If I don't get electrocuted, the tires don't go flat or it doesn't cause water in the fuel lines, I'll "circle back"
with an update.
You mentioned staples. At the roof to wall juncture is just 4mm ply glued to the afore mentioned extrusion. A few years ago we used a pin nailer to fasten some 1/4 round there. If you drive the pin straight in, it goes through the 4mm, hits the extrusion and jams your nailer. However, if you angle the nailer about 45 degrees, USUALLY, the pin will go through the 4mm, hit the extrusion, bend and travel along the extrusion. USUALLY, because if you use a pin nailer much, you know pins have mind of their own.
Not a fan of using adhesive to affix trim.
