DEf LIGHT

I just purchased a Winnebago VIA a few weeks back and on the way back the engine light came on. The owners manual said the DeF needed to be checked and sure enough it was way low. I put two gallons in it and the light is still on.Will it go off after i drive it some distance? Being new to Diesel engines i am worried.

It might....

Be aware that IF the starts left countdown starts, it is a no foolin' issue.

It would be helpful if you would add your RV information to your signature block. Check your User CP ....

If it is under warranty, it might pay to take it to a Benz Sprinter service facility and have the problem noted. They have the experience, trained techs and diagnostic tools you may need.

It would also be a good idea to take your Sprinter/Via to Mother Benz and have them do a couple things: register it in their database as the new owner; pull the maintenance/service records; make certain the oil used meets MB BEVO spec. 229.52; fuel filter has been changed on schedule (not a DIY job); airbags (both) replaced under recall; and, all software updates for the emission system have been applied. And, any other recalls on the emission system have been accomplished.

Also, contact WBO with your VIN and chassis information and verify that any recalls have been completed. Particularly, on some models theynusedmthe wrong material in the LP hoses. They will leak and crap up the regulator.

Sprinter-source forum is also a good resource.
