Dinette bed/rail fail

We have a 2020 2455 BHS, just purchased in Oct. On our first trip we were getting the hang of everything...attempted to make the dinette into a bed, placed the table top on the wooden rails, husband sat down (to lay down) and CRACK. The entire wooden rail (well, all 1/2 inch of it) split. We’ve since fixed/reinforced the rail, but still have no trust that the piddly wooden rails will hold the tabletop plus a human. Has anyone customized/rigged your dinette bed for better support?
