For any of you that have the famous Winnebago Entry Door rattle, there is a service kit to repair it. I was at a dealer looking at the new coaches and the sales person told me about the service kit #490825 which consists of Teflon coated striker bolt, (2) sheet metal screws, and (2) rubber bumpers along with installation instructions. This replaces the tape many like myself had put on the stricker bolt to eliminate rattles.

The service kit is for Journey, Meridian, Vectra, Horizon, and Ultimate's

Dealers received Service Bulletin # 7SB010-05-04Z on this, and was dated 2/4/2005.

Hope this helps anyone with the problem.

I ordered the 'kit' from Winnebagoparts.com couple of months ago but it only included the teflon coated striker bolt, no rubber gizmos. Door is better.

I install the same kit back in June, then I had a problem with the screen door closing beyond the door seal. The rubber bummpers had to be shaved down about 1/4". The kit fixed one raddle, but the door still raddled. These doors have no insulation, so the mechanisms in the door raddle. I glued some 1/2" foam to the inside of the door, just under all the hardware. Now the door sounds solid and not so cheap and tinnie.

At the 2005 GNR I met with the Winnebago QC Director about this problem. THey recognize that the ceramic coating is wearing or cracking.

When I told him about the fix using the black electrical tape, he was abit taken by the simplicity. I think they are looking a completely different style striker bolt for future coaches.

However my opinion is that the door rattle will continue until the door is made more solid...I am think about using a few cans of "Great Stuff" to fill the hollow door like I did on an old Coachman Class C that had the same rattle !!

We had the infamous winne door rattle also and the dealer wound up disassembling the door and removing the insulation and using silicone sealant between the outer door skin and the framework inside. The rattle was from the skin beating on the framework. Catch this one before your coach warranty is up as it was at least 6 hours @ $100/hr.

We have an 04 Vectra. We don't have a door rattle but more like a squeak. It has been adjusted once with some success but still squeaks. Anyone know if this will solve this problem?

OH YES. The squeek was really bad in our 2004 Vectra. We had resorted to wrapping duct tape around the striker. It would last for a few weeks then have to be replaced. I called and ordered the replacement kit (about $22) and replaced it ourselves. No more squeek!!

Used the electrical tape prior to a 1000 mile round trip at the end of October. Door didn't rattle at all.

If someone bought the "kit" for $22, I would be willing to buy it from you for $40!

My dealer is "willing" to sell me the dumb coated striker bolt for $40. I told him to send it back....rediculous.

$40 buys alot of electrical tape....

I called Winnebago first and they said I would have to have it ordered through my dealer. So I called my dealer, gave them all the part numbers, and they ordered it and just had it sent to our home since they said we could install it ourselves. It still didn't cost $40! Are they chargeing for install? They call it a "kit", but all it is the striker and some rubber bumpers. Even at $22 I think it was over priced.....however, that door squeek was really annoying!

You can sure tell when you find a GOOD dealer. We had just stopped in to Wheelen RV Center in Joplin, MO and was walking through the coaches on the lot. The sales lady turned out to be the owners wife, and she also turned out to be very knowledgable about Winnebago. We described our door rattle problem and she told us of the kit to "repair it". I offered to purchase the kit, but she wouldn't hear of it. She gave me the kit and instructions. We did not purchase anything while there, but she thanked our visit and welcomed us to stop by any time we are in the area. If I were in the market for a new coach, guess who I would call. Now don't you think so of these other hot-shot dealers would get the message??

Did you try to order from the parts company that supports IRV2.

Anyone ever heard of the door rattle on a 2007 Vectra? I would have thought they would have fixed the problem, since the replacement fix kit came out in 2005. This rattle only happens when we are at high speed on the highway, not driving through town. It is the only really annoying rattle on the coach. So far. We just drove it home for the first time today after buying it (used, but new to us) from the dealer.

So how about the mid entry door like on my 09 Destination. Had the dealer adjust the latch and it still rattles. Very annoying - the only thing that keeps it from being a near quiet ride. Hate having to turn the volume up on the radio.
