I get a lot of driver door wind noise on my 2005 Sinrise. I've had it in with two dealers and been given two otential solutions:
1) Adjust the mirror in to reduce the noise - I've done this and still have the noise.
2) Buy some kind of lock to install in the upper frame of the door to lock it in place - I do notice that while I'm driving the door "flutters" buy the top. If the answer is this lock/latch any ideas where to get one?
Any thoughts/ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, on my '06 Voyage (sister to your Sunrise), the door had air noise when driving, and the service dept put some weather strip along the hinge side...slowed the noise somewhat to bareable levels...
Mine does not leak on the lock/handle side. If I were you, I would adjust the lock to much tighter...
Winnebago has a handle lock if you need to buy one (like the red ones on your escape window in your bedroom)

Must be common on the Sunrise and Voyage models as we have the same problem. I don't notice a noise problem but I can see daylight around the edge of both doors on our Itasca. The tricky part will be putting enough weather stripping on to fill the gap but not so much that it prevents the door from closing completely. Anyone have any ideas on the type of weatherstripping to use?

I would think a one side sticky back foam type that will compress very easy when the door is closed would do the trick.
But it would not look to pretty when the door is open....thats all I got?

I tried the sticky backed foam type of weather strip on our trailer we had previous to the MH and found that after not too long a time the strip would start to peel off and slide around, I think on warm days the heat got to it. I'll have to do some shopping and see what all is available and hopefully find something better suited to the job.

Are there some bolts holding the door on that could be adjusted for a better fit? I used to have a car that had wind noise because the top of a door had been bent out just a little. Maybe a heavy shoulder or a rubber mallet might help if the noise is at the top of the door.

Bobg43,
I have a driver's door on my coach and it came with a latching mechanism mounted in the upper corner opposite the hinge side. It looks like this.
Hope this helps.

My next choice would be the felt strips with the one side metal edge where you could put some very small screws in it to hold in place, a bit tricky around the corners but could be done.
And it would not move around unless the screws backed out.

I posted this back in 2002 when I had this problem with my Adventurer.

I tried a tip posted by Tom Williams back on Sept.4th. Our 01 Adventurer has had this wind noise since new, also test drove another one and it had the same problem. Thanks Tom, I don't know how you found the source of the noise.
From Tom's post:
I solved the problem of wind whistle and wind noise from the drivers door of my 01 Suncrusier 35U. The whistle was coming for the black grill in front. The ends of the grill vibrate and cause a harmonic vibration. Dealer welded a small metal rod on the ends of the grill to stop the vibration. The wind noise from the drivers door was coming from a channel that runs veritical toward the front of the roll down window. I found it by putting duct tape over it. For a permanent fix I ran a bead of black caulking in the channel. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I agree with WarrenH. I had the same problem on my 2000 Adventurer. I first placed tape over the hinge area, working back toward the door window until I had covered the edge of the window and then wind noise stopped. I found an edge moulding at a RV supply store that just fit tighly into vertical groove channel next to window. Caulking should also work as well.
