We bought our 2004 Chieftain used, so had no clue about re-sealing the perimeter of the roof. On a trip home a year ago, a 4 by 10 section of the roof peeled off and sailed into the sunset.
Living in Oregon, this is not good.
We checked several local RV repair quotes, but settled on Christian of RV Roofing Solutions. Here:
RV Roofing Solutions
He travels around the country and does the work on-site. Took about 3 days, $5,000 (about 1/4 quotes we received) and is guaranteed 10 years.
He thouroughly cleaned the roof, re-built the edge, replaced damaged luan, and sealed all the vents, and other roof penetrations, then applied a couple of coatings of acrylic and polyester cloth.
Looks beautiful. I am more than happy with his work and overall experience, and highly recommend him (or his franchisees) to get your roof back in better than new condition.
