Filter Access for Oil Change in a 2011 Tour

I am about to change the oil in a 2011 Tour we recently bought. In looking for the oil filter I found it located "sandwiched" between the engine block and chassis frame. The position makes it impossible to get leverage on a standard lever type oil filter wrench. Is there a special tool you have to buy and put on the end of a ratchet extension to untighten/tighten the filter? Has anyone changed their own oil and filter on their Tour and ,if so, how did you do it? Another question, was the original oil filter black? The one on my coach is black and because I can't get to the filter I can't tell who the manufacturer is but it does not appear to be Cummins/Fleetwood.

Hi Doug,
An oil filter wrench like this one would work well, provided the diameter of your oil filter is from 2-3/8 to 3¾ inches:

A standard auto filter removal tool will not fit the huge oil filter on a diesel engine. I use a strap wrench with a square to fit a ½" socket extension.
Caution! Do not tighten a filter with a wrench if you ever want to replace it.

I purchased one like eagle5 suggested, only large enough to fit large oil filter. It worked fine. Thanks to those who replied. Now I have what I need to change the oil myself when needed

Hi Doug,
I too ordered one when I found it for this post. It works wonderfully! Sometimes, you just don't know what is out there until you search for it on-line.
Thanks, Eagle5

Buy an oil filter socket, your auto parts supplier should have them, they are specific to the filter size, I have several that fit the different vehicles in my possession! It fits on the end of the filter.
