Finally fixed my basement heat pump

I bought my 2002 Adventurer last summer and have enjoyed it. It had a significant fan rattle on a/c, but when we turned it to heat it was too loud to maintain happy neighbors. I found some good “how to” post, for which I’m very grateful. One day last week, with the help of my motorcycle jack, I pulled the unit out, opened it up, and saw right away the outboard fan pillar bearing was done for. I ordered a sealed bearing from Amazon and got it yesterday. The inboard fan bearing was fine though it was thirsty for oil, which I gave it. I put everything back together today, and it’s whisper quiet. It’s a feeling of elation to fix it myself, but the truth is, I would’ve never known how had it not been for the excellent information I received from reading these forums.

I need to do that. Mine sounds terrible after starting up but smooths out after it runs for a while.
