Unhappy Front TV replacement 39K

I know this has been a repeated topic but I can not find through a search a post that I saw a couple of years ago that contained great photos of the removal and replacement of the front RV. I am adequate when it come to something of this type but I like to have directions.

Additionally, I met a Journey owner in Crossville Tn. at the Bean Pot campground that had replaced his front TV with a flatscreen using a piano hinge on the left side so the space behind his flat screen could be easily accessed for storage. If that person reads this I wish he would post some pics ! I know I should have made pics at the time but he was pulling out and time was an issue.

Thanks to anyone that can help me with pics of the project.

Check the Winnebago section at RVFORUM.NET. There is a sticky for this topic.

My 39k was already modified up front using a Moryde (sp) mount. If I had done it I would send pics.

I did do the bedroom TV and it is written up in the referenced sticky.

We were going to use a piano hinge but put a telescoping TV mount in the cabinet, side mounted and mounted a 32 inch Hitachi TV on it. (the mount is especially for RV,s, we got ours from a vendor at an RV show) The TV covers the entire cabinet and we just pull it out for storage. The mount has a sturdy lock to keep the TV from bouncing off and we put a bungee across it while traveling.

I replaced the old TV with a 39" flatscreen. I left the old wood frame, finished the space behind the old TV with black padded vinyl and used a mount with a short arm (so I can make use of the "new" storage area. It looks like it came from the factory.

I bought a 24" LED TV as a replacement, while checking out the picture quality at home next to a 32" Sanyo LCD the picture was equal, but the viewing angle on my LED unit was limited, standing or level was fine, but if the screen was above me the picture got darker the lower I went, something you don't notice in the store unless you sat on the floor, so I bought an articulating arm mount so I can angle it down when sitting on the sofa, something to consider when TV shopping.

Thanks! I also added a Blueray player. It took about two weeks of thinking and a day of doing. I had to move the center speaker forward almost a foot, but the wires could be easily fished thru the ceiling.
