Help with outdoor speaker replacement

Hello all. I am in the process of replacing the outdoor speakers on our 2015 View. The speakers are held on with four screws and butyl rubber.
The screws that came out appear to have what appears to be blue locktight or blue thread locking compound on them. Do I need to put some type of compound on the screws? There is so little for them to bite on before I,m into the styrofoam. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, George
