What is the brand of inverter that you have? Also, does your rig have a remote control panel for the inverter in one of the OH cabinets?

Does the inverter have anything to due with the auto start?

If the auto start is a Onan look at their website for the operation manual.
There should be two kinds, one that is hard wired and one that is remote.

It is a magnum 2800 watt. ,Onan EC 30 ,it has a aux control unit next to the inverter control.

I have the manual, and can turn on voltage or HVAC ,and turn on . there is a safety setting ,and a shore power sensor. I can't find a menu for temp settings. If i turn it to HVAC on ,does it use the temp settings on the thermostat?

Lets try you tube.. See if one of their videos will show you. I believe with the one you have you will set the thermostat.

I have attached the manual to this post.

Between the You Tube Video and the manual you should have no problem setting it up for auto start.

If you do, we can set up a teleconference and walk you through the setup.

The EC-30 senses when the thermostat calls for HVAC. If there is no shorepower present (it also senses this), it starts the generator. All you have to do is set the thermostat - same as you would if plugged into shorepower. All you have to do at the EC-30 is put it in Auto mode...

Very timely post for us too! I've been all through the manuals that came with our new rig and could not find anything on the auto start control.

Thanks!
