HWH Leveling and slide

The motor for my HWH leveling and slides has died. Had to winch the front room in, and push the bedroom in by hand.

What am I looking at for replacing the pump motor?

Thanks,

Ron

first thing I would do is check the ground wire which often build up rust at the bottom of the HWH mounting box and once it is cleaned up you are ready to go.

If you do determine the pump is bad, take it to a local starter/alternator repair shop. Most likely, it can be repaired locally for far less than the cost of a motor from HWH.

after checking the ground at the large worm gear clamp around the motor, try tapping on the motor in this area with a hammer while the pump switch is energized by your DW.
often this will reseat the motors brushes until a permanent repair can be made.

Tried all of the above, nothing worked, so I guess it's motor replacement time.

Thanks for all of the suggestions and help,

Ron

Did you measure good voltage right at the motor (after the solenoid)? If not I'd check that with a meter, or ....

You could use a pair of jumper cables to put 12v directly to the motor and just give it a jolt to see if it will run for a second.

There is quite a bit of logic relays and switches that have to be functioning, all of which can go out. In my case it was a 50 lb pressure switch that wouldn't close.

Good luck,
Bill

Corrosion on the pump motor brush ground plate stopped my motor , details of my repair here. I've done two of these and heard back for other members who have had to do the same.

EDIT: But do go through Bill's ideas first, a lot of possible points of failure in the system.

Thanks everyone for your help.

The Motor is dead as determined by applying voltage directly to motor. Camper is in the shop waiting for HWH motor.

I wish I could do these jobs myself but age and arthritis prevents me from doing a lot of these now days

I hope I get another 11 years out of this motor

Ron
