With mine, the drivers seat has to be forward and the engine off for the slides to activate. I have two electric and two hydraulic slides

Tks

There's a solenoid on top of your HWH hydraulic pump motor. The solenoid needs replaced. You can short the terminals, on the solenoid, with a heavy screw driver and while holding the screwdriver across the terminals, someone can run the system.

You can also try tapping the solenoid lightly.

This solenoid and pump motor operate the same as a car starter.

I'd say you have four electric slides since the hydraulic motor is run by 12 V power.

Dear Tom N,
I know this question does not apply to the slide and seal question but what kind of
modifications did you have to do to flat tow your 2012 Honda Accord EXL, if any?
I would like to flat tow my 09 Honda Accord EXL.

Thanks in advance for any information you can give me.

Tom,
We have a FW Discovery with HWH jack system. Works just fine. No problems what so every. BUT, the pump makes a real loud noise when working. Would you have some thoughts on this? Should we do anything about this?
Thanks,
JimB

I don't tow the Accord or Odyssey. I did tow a Civic but no longer have it.
Actually the Accord is a 2013. I made a typo.

I have no idea. Possibly a loose bolt. I'd get under the coach and have someone operate the system and listen closely.

I'd call HWH and ask them. They are very busy but will return your call.

Balzac;

I had a similar problem with a 97 Adventure. I was packing up to leave the campground. The slide quit when it was 1/2 way in. I could hear the solenoid click but the 12 V motor would not run. I had a 12 V test light with me. My HWH pump was behind the front bumper. I had my wife push the slide switch and I had power to the motor so I knew the motor had failed. I took a hammer and rapped the motor and the slide came in. When I got home I could no longer get the motor to run so I replaced the motor and it was fine after that. If you have a tester or volt meter and can get at the solenoid you can determine if it is the motor or the solenoid. Have someone hit the switch. If there is no power coming out of the solenoid to the motor it is likely the solenoid. If there is power to the motor it is likely the motor. A bad ground to the motor could also cause the problem if you have power to the motor.

Don

If slides will not function, and leveling jacks will not go down ...no sound except "clicking" ...most likely is the 12v hydraulic pump motor has failed. The click indicates the solenoid is working. My motor failed last month in Rapid City SD. After trouble-shooting on the phone, Coachnet sent a mobile tech, "Land Roamer." He confirmed the motor had failed, and as there was no place locally to get one, he took it apart. The internal ground had failed due to what looked like melt/residue from the brush mount. He cleaned it up and re-established a good ground, even crafting a new screw as the original was damaged getting it out. I watched the process, and added my fingers to the effort to keep the brushed in place during reassembly. I have no sought it is as good as new. The problem and solution reminded me of the way I re-built a generator on a VW van many years ago.

Just had this problem. Check the connections at the solenoid terminal. Mine was loose. Tightened and no problem

balzac,
the hwh motor is grounded by the large worm gear clamp around it where the solenoid is attached. the motor is painted black. paint is not a good grounding medium.
i installed an additional ground wire.

download a service manual from the hwh website for your system. it will walk you thru the diagnostics for this problem. it sounds like you have lost one of the relays
if the slides and the jacks dont work, it points to the master. that supplies power to both the jack and room relays. if either the jacks or the rooms dont work, check that relay. the click you hear is probably the hydraulic solenoids opening.
the power source that moves the rooms is the reason they are called either hydraulic or electric. its important to know that when talking to a tech.
semantics are not important when trying to make a diagnosis. they are not helpful.
