Lippert PowerGear slideout motor repair

The kitchen slide out on our 38Q is stuck. Thankfully it is not extended. I have discussed the problem with Steve in Forest City. From the error code (1G 4R) it seems that motor one on the PowerGear slide out has failed.

We are on the road and have been unable to locate a shop that can look at our rink in less than one month. Winnebago is scheduling repairs in Mid-September. Lippert service does not answer their phone (on hold for 60 min).

Our travel for the next months will take us through OR and WA in July then eastwards ending up in WI in September.

Would appreciate any advise and/or leads to a suitable repair facility.

Isn't there a fairly new Winnebago plant in Oregon? I thought I read they are in the old Country Coach facility in the Eugene area. If there is, just show up if you've got some time to get worked in?

I suspect others that have been through this can tell you what the best course of action is. These Power gear, in wall slide assemblies don't seem much better than the Schwintek version. Good luck.

Are you still under warranty? Power Gear warrants for two (2) years from the date of original sale and is transfer-able. I also just experienced a 1 green 4 red fault. The Winnebago authorized service center that has my RV states both motors and housings need replaced.

To find an authorized dealer use: https://www.lci1.com/dealer-locator/

If they don't answer the phone try an on-line contact: https://www.lci1.com/contact
Email: [email protected]
Phone: 574-537-8900

If you are still under Winnebago warranty they offer 24 hour shipping on warranty repair parts.

Maybe Brazel's can help you.

Walk in?

Forest City does take "walk ins" with no appointment. They have a board and show status while you are waiting. Not sure how long repair would take. We did a drop off without an appointment and waited 3 weeks before picking rig up.

The new Winnebago OR facility is in Junction City, OR. Haven't tried this yet, but Winnebago told me to call this customer service number in Forest City to make an appointment should I ever need to have factory work done (was paranoid about the slides on my new Winnebago so questioned them before I bought it): (866)311-7133. May be a different number for the OR facility but this is a start. Good luck-

My favorite Service center is:
Cummins Coach Care
33070 Roberts Ct
Coburg, OR 97408-9495
Phone: (800) 777-0336
50amp and water but no sewer although about a block before arriving is a Camping World with a dump. Right off I-5 on left if heading North.

I had my bedroom Power Gear slide repaired in Forest City

My kitchen Power Gear slide repaired at Awesome RV in Chehelis, WA.

Awesome RV showed me my old slide mechanisms and there is an engineering defect, or weak point, that allows the motor housing to crack. They said that the replacement mechanism has been modified to fix the problem.

Safe Travels. JD

We were going to make an appointment at Junction City when we were there this year (not slides) but cancelled when they said that there is no discount for WIT members. We will be at the GNR so will have our problems worked on then.
