Lubricating slides

I have a 2006 Itasca Ellipse. When the driver side slide went out, the plastic spacer and the thin metal spacers came out and I found them on the ground. Husband passed and he would usually know what to do. I have no idea. Is this going to be a huge issue bringing slide in and out?
Also should I be lubricating the slide arms? They look really dry.
