I had an M3 done at Gafney about this time last year and they did not open the top access. It's a real pleasure doing business with them...

On edit: Looks like I lost my signature info...I also have an '04 36G

Had M3 done there yesterday. Do not need top access. Like tomsm said they are a real pleasure to do business with. I did not need transmission service but did have the air dryer cartridge replaced. It could have gone a few months yet but would rather have them do it. Bill with FCOC discount was ab $850.

BTW if you haven't attended Camp Freightliner there try real hard to attend sometime. A great class even if you don't plan to do your own work.

I have my M3 scheduled in April while I am at the Camp class there, looking forwad to it. They told me i should get the transmission done also, why did they say not to on yours. It will save me some $$ if not really needed. I have low mileage on it, no problems.

majfrizz, I'm not sure why you need trans service now. Did you have the initial one done? I think the Trans Syd service is 4 yr or 3 yr if severe service like buses. You can tell them you don't need or want it done. They are very easy to work with.

You will enjoy Camp Ftl. You will come out with brain overload but will have a notebook full of material and a CD with the class info on it. After attending Camp Ftl last year, if I were physically able, I could do the maintenance myself. It's good to know what to ask or look for if I ever must use another shop for work.

I have a similiar coach. I believe the transmission service is simply replacing the external filter and topping off the oil. Supposed to be done at 6000 miles. Your tranny is equipped with Transynd and shouldn't require changing for a long time. (Check decal in radiator area for confirmation of Transynd.)

you are correct on the Transynd. The coach has 8000 miles on it. it sat at the dealer for over a year before i bought it new at 900 miles. I did have the initial service last year, so after talking to Gaffney they suggetsed doing the M3 to make sure all is good to go.
