I was wondering if its easy to get new keys for compartments and doors for my '81 brave? and what it would take. or would it be simple to just buy new locks from the dealer or maybe just new cylinders from lowes or something
A lot of the compartment door locks use the same key from MH to MH, especially the same brand.

i have zero keys, when i got it the door had a lock from HD and he replaced the ignition key cause the lady he got it from did not have keys, so would there be a number on the door?! or would just be better to head to winnebago with title for first copy?
You might have to go to Winnebago for a new lock mechanism.

I just bought 4 duplicate keys from a locksmith after not being able to find them at a grocery or hardware store.
The round one was $7.50, and the three cheesy little ones came to $9.50 for a total of 4 keys for $17.00. On the one hand it was robbery, on the other cheap compared to being stuck someplace and THEN having to chase around and replace them.
Walk down your street and talk to someone with an RV. Borrow their keys and take them home and give it a try. Sadly, most all RVs use the same key! If you go to a dealer, they could open your compartments in about a minute AND sell you the key.
