Go to the Freightliner Forum to read about a new recall. Over 6000 chassis affected.

Jim, on 8/26/07 I went to Access Freightliner, Service Pro,"Recall/Campaigns" and this recall is not yet listed. According to the nhts link you provided the recall will start about September 23, 2007. Thanks for the heads up as I was going to have to take the Journey to the Freightliner dealer (a trip for us) in mid September so now I can add this to the list.

I again checked Service Pro and looked at major components and noted our Journey has TRW steering. The nhts document refers to ZF steering model 8018. I called FL and the help desk told me that the ZF steering unit was used with the indendent front suspensions and they are the ones that are being recalled not the TRW straight axles. So looks like its not going to be a TRW steering problem.

I did an analysis of the FL published specs and posted an update on the Freightliner forum discussion as to which MH models/years I believe are affected.

Thanks! Looks like my coach will be on the list. I've noticed no steering problem, but when the time comes, I'll take it in.

Why does the nhsta recall state that the fix will be available after Sept, 23rd? Is it a parts issue or is it still being determined. The reason I ask is I was going to take the coach to an oasis dealer in the next week or so and would like to get all the items done at the same time.
