no power to the third brake light. 2007 outlook 25f
I replaced the third brake light on my 2007 outlook because it was cracked, and not working. no power to the light. ground wire is good but the brake power wire not so good. has anyone tried to pull in a new wire? I'm having a tough time trying to decipher the wire codes at the rear connector. so i know which wire runs up to the light.

This may or may not be helpful to you, but I added a third brake light to my 2016 Minnie Winnie which did not originally have one. I didn't have any luck with coach wiring diagrams (if I remember right, the Ford chassis wire for third brake light power is white with purple stripe, couldn't find that one either) so I used the old fashioned trial and error method to find a source of power and ground for it.
I found the connector for the tail, brake, and backup lights near the back of the chassis rail. Then I used a simple test light to determine the function of each of the 8 wires to find the one for the brake lights. Using temporary jumper wires I connected the middle brake light and ensured it was strictly for brake lights only and not either turn light.
Then it was easy from there to make the permanent connections and ensure they were secure and watertight. I feel a lot safer by having that third brake light!

Thank you. My brake light is up by the back up camera. I have found the correct wires from the coach that was no problem. My problem is I can’t find where the wires are coming down to those connections. I will keep hunting. Happy motoring.

I'm not familiar with your coach, but the coax for our rear camera is routed straight through the rear wall and into a wall/ceiling mounted cabinet on the inside back wall. Perhaps it may be visible there in your rig, and if you're lucky the brake light wiring will be there with the coax.
From there maybe the wiring can be traced to the next connector where you can test for power. In my rig the coax goes to the upper right rear interior corner then down a small wire chase inside a closet and through the floor and into the rear storage compartment.
I know this is nothing positive, but barring better advice its a place to start.

Well,
The first thing that you need to familiarize yourself with is that the *third brake light*, in many manufacturers terminology is called the *CHMSL* or, Chassis High Mount Stop Light. And, it is not only separately controlled with an independent switch, but, it's also independently FUSED, apart from your regular brake light fuses.
Sooooo, what I'd do is find that fuse for that particular component and make sure it's good. Then, if it is, I'd investigate from there. If you have power going to that fuse, and then through it, now you've got some tracing to do, to find out where the break in the line is. Good luck.

Your on to something here, My wiring diagram indicates that wire "X" (the hot wire for 3rd brake light) connects to FORD wiring located near Ford Fuse Panel. Here is the Drawing / diagram for my WF324V https://tamparubber-my.sharepoint.co...EyxzA?e=7vlyx0

Two wheels-
Is your coach built on a Chevy or Ford chassis?
On another topic, you should add a signature to your user profile. It usually includes the year, make and model of your coach, but can include other information. A signature is appended to each post.
