Poorly Made and Deteriorating Decals
I have 4 decals on my 2016 Winnebago Sunstar LX which 4 were severely cracked and discolored. These decals are on both sides with 1 on the top and the other on the bottom. They are also the only decals that look “severely weathered”. The decals in question are the Mid/Sweep Upper and Lower Pearl Diamond color. I store the RV inside except when traveling. We only have 19,000 miles on it, as the Covid Pandemic and the price of fuel has hampered us a bit.
I talked to both my dealer as well as Winnebago customer service. And they told me that it was sun damaged, and there is nothing they can do? To make matters worse, when I talked to Winnebago customer service, they told me that these decals have been discontinued and are no longer available. I even called the graphic supplier to Winnebago, Sharpline which is in Wichita Kansas. They told me they don’t make it anymore. I wonder why? Even the decal place told me that those decals were likely made from a bad batch. They are made all together and to show that kind of damage on each one proves it, when compared to the other decals on the RV. This is just one example on how Winnebago does not truly stand behind their product.
I did have the 4 decals replaced at a local automobile vinyl wrap shop in Twinsburg Ohio. VMS (Visual Marketing Systems) to get the 4 decals replaced. The work and professionalism they provided was great. The 4 replaced decals look amazing! They printed out a darker color and it looks great. I now need to do a complete wax job.
I’ve spoken to Winnebago and my dealer about 3 big issues that include:
1. These Decals
2. A quarter size cutout that’s dropped into the Black Tank during manufacturing, that eventually makes its way into the macerator pump and will burn out the pump. (It did it to mine)
3. Severe leaning to one side (spoke to dealer and Winnebago) when the RV was new. They said it was the way I loaded the RV. I have more weight stored on the opposite side.
I even offered to travel to Forest City to have them inspect and fix these issues and share a bit of the cost. They refused all issues.
These are all great examples of how IMHO shows that Winnebago does not stand behind their products nor their customers!
