Anyone replaced the Sharp Carousel microwave in there 2001 Adventurer 35U?

Door will not lock and stay shut and light stays on. Going to seach for replacement. Was kind of wondering how unit is secured.

On mine there are two steel straps at the front that are screwed to the top of the compartment.
There are also a couple of other attachments as I recall - it's been 3 years since I replaced mine with a convection/microwave so details are a little fuzzy.

In any case the removal was easy.

Mine isn't an Aventurer but I think the mounting is similar across the model lines. My 96 Warrior was mounted the same way as my 2004 Sightseer.

OK update. Removed old microwave.

remove filter cover. Unscrew 2 long bolts. Remoce spacer bracket rear bottom of microwave.
Inside cabinet aboce microwave. Remove thin wood stip that is part of the shelf. Than remove the 4 screws that hold the mounting plate to the microwave cabinet.

This cabinet above the microwave also houses the HW switch and 12 volt circuit breakers. I removed the panel looking for bolts or screws that I thopught might hold microwave. But none there. This panel will have to be opened when I feed power cord back into cabinet anyway.

Now to repair or upgrade. Think time for new MH.

Tom,

Same thing happened to our microwave. I took the motor home to a place that repairs microwaves, they found the spring holder had broken. He found another place to hook two springs, and that fixed the door like new. $40.00

Got it fixed. Hill Billy style.

Took a tie wrap. Made a loop where the bracket had broken. Hooked the spring to it and on latch arm. Works OK so far. Going to install back in MH. At least if it breaks again. I know what it is. The braket that broke. looks to be part of the door. Cost somewhere around $100.0 to $150. This will work for now.
