Roof Sealant for vent cover
I'm in the process of putting a vent cover over our maxx fan. Went to the Winnebago call out sheet to find the proper sealant. Got the part number and ordered it from Litchsinn RV. When it arrived I was a little confused. It is NuFlex 311 joint sealant which is a self leveling SILICONE. I thought you did not want to use Silicone on the roof. It's also the same product in Litchsinn's roof maintain video.
Your thoughts please, I'm hesitant to use it.

Just curious, but why not use Dicor Self-Leveling Lap Sealant?

That's what I thought, but according to the Winnebago call out sheet this is what they use from the factory. Not sure if Dicore comes in black.

Its a personal choice, but I don't use sillycone for anything.
Dicor, or Poly Butyl ( not easy to find) work well.
You can then go over the outside with Eturna Bond Tape, on over lapping edges.
It should never leak at all.
Clean, and use the primer for the tape. it won't let go in any weather.

I went on Dicor's web site and they have it in black. It's a new color. I ordered 3 tubes.
Thanks to all who replied.
