slide lubrication?

i've got a 39K itasca meridian and have really been pampering it lately. i've had it a couple years and at times i wonder if the slide rails or any part of the slide should ne lubed. it has 3 slides and i would appreciate any input and tips for maintenance. thanks

I think the general consensus is that they don't really need to be lubed... but some do seem to spray the rails with dry/silicone lube.

I just recently had all the nylon slide bushings replaced on my big slide at Winnebago in Forest City. The mechanics noted the waxy slide lube (applied by the previous owner) and said to just keep the slide mechanism clean and use no lube. They meticulously cleaned all that stuff off the mechanism.

What would be the preferred method of cleaning the slide rails please?

The folks at Winnebago told me just to wash them....spray them with water.
