Slide out winch?

Has anyone had to use the slide out winch to retract the slide?

If so, how do you manage to get the slide in without it coming in crooked or skewed?

Thanks,

Ron

Since no one is chiming in I will suggest a stick from the side that is forward to the opposite wall or kick plate if there is cabinets.

Thanks for chiming in, but I'm not sure I understand your suggestion. Since the winch is not pulling on the exact center of the living room slide, it comes in skewed.

Once the room started coming in crooked I had to stop because I didn't want to damage the slides or the room.

I guess no one here must of had trouble with their hydraulic slides quitting.
I lost all the hydraulics when the pump quit while on a camping trip.

Ron

As stated I guess no one has had the issue. I have never had the issue myself. But I visualize the slide coming in, one corner leading the other. I assume its to heavy to go out side and shove the trailing corner. My thought has to do with stopping the leading corner. Maybe wedge a shim on the floor or a stick from the leading corner to the opposite wall!

Another thought in my mind is moving the point that the winch hooks too?

If your side is hydraulic? My Motorhome Tec tells me five or six men can simply push it in if it fails!!!

That's exactly what I had to do

Luckily there were enough friends available to push the end of the slide that wouldn't come in.

Two of us were able to push the bedroom slide in but even that was quite a task

Thanks,

Ron

My hydraulic pump motor failed and I had to use the winch. I had to open the valves on the solenoids and I winched it in it did not come in crooked It was not easy to crank in. I would make sure I had the valves on the solenoids open it can't be pulled if they are not released. When they are opened it allows the fluid to back into the reservoir.

The nuts were opened the required turns and the slides came in very slow while the fluid was going back into the reservoir. Maybe I have other problems causing the slide to come in crooked

It took two people to push the bedroom slide in.

Just driving from our camping spot to the dump station the bedroom slide started creeping out so I tied a rope around it.

Thanks,

Ron
