slideout lock
Does anyone have any idea how to disengage the lock for the slide on passenger side. When I press the switch it only clicks and will not engage to unlock the slide. 2012 winnebago 42QD

I don't know if any of this will help. But here are two images.
One showing the lock location and the other showing the locks themselves and the wiring.
Hope it helps. Oh, I'll put a link to the 12v wiring installation diagram where I got these screen captures, too.

Thank you so be very much. This will be very helpful. I did locate the slide lock and was able to free it up. Took pin out, ran it and it worked, put pin back in and tested same. Right now its working. Thanks again.

Slide out locks
There was a recall issued from the manufacturer of the locks on your (same as mine) coach. They replace the mechanism because it binds and locks up. I did NOT have the replacement done but I have prevented the reoccurrence of the problem by bumping back the lock when locking or unlocking. It prevents the lock from binding. I’m imprisoned away from my coach right now or I could give you more info. Hope this helps.

I was told to reach up to the lock and flip it down.

If you haven't gotten the lock clear yet you can try this.
Remove the black box on the ceiling in the cabinet. This is where the motor for the lock is located. Spray the gear with your favorite lube. Wiggle and work the gear follower, to loosen it, with your finger and with the lock switch.
I have had to rebuild all of my locks. PowerGear has a repair kit for these.
Here is some infor that may help you:

We went full time 3 years ago and I used it at first and found that I had to push and hold the button for I think it was 4 seconds. Then after about the fourth time of forgetting to unlock it I quit using it and have never had a problem. LIVIN THE DREAM

This happened in my Sunova on first voyage. I had to pull the box like described above and pull the cotter pin out of the worm gear. This disconnected it from the motor and I could manually screw the lock back to disengage. That was 2011, I haven't engaged those locks since. I have power gear slides and my dealer service said the locks were unnecessary and 60K miles later, he has been right. Also what I noticed is the huge rubbing marks on the slide body caused by the locks. Not good.
