Slideout Room Controller on a 26HE
Just picked up a new 26HE a few weeks ago and still getting familiar locating things. I am trying to find the Slideout Room Controller. The manual states it should be located in a driver or passenger side compartment, depending on model. Ive looked everywhere and dont see it. Can anyone who has a 26HE tell me where this control panel is.
Thanks all
Dick

It is on the wall before walking into the bedroom. It is up high on the wall. Walk past the washroom door and look up. You need a key to enable the slideout.

I think he is talking about the control panel with the dip switches and error code display? I have yet to find it either...I am thinking it is behind a wall panel.

This may not help, but I have a Vista 27N that uses the same slide controllers as the 26HE. On mine, the controllers are located in the Driver's side compartment. They are behind a removeable panel. Its easy to miss that panel. There are 2 silver colored knobs to turn to remove the panel.

Looking in the owner's manual, I can find nothing that looks like the diagram showing the error codes, etc. I just crawled under the rig and saw nothing there. On the 26 HE, the small door under the drivers window appears to have equipment for the levelers. If there is a hidden panel inside the driver's compartment, I'm missing it.
I think this calls for a visit to my dealer to ask a tech.

There is a picture on page 10-3 of the 26HE manual. Here's a copy.

Relative to Oldtrooper's post and macnut's photo, I just returned from my dealer. The tech thinks its mounted behind the key switch panel at the bathroom door. I didn't take my rig and there were none available to pull this panel to check. If somebody is adventurous and pulls this panel, please post your findings.

Wow, thanks! I could have looked forever for that...now hopefully I'll never need to go there!

Thanks grtharris. I just went out and looked. Mine is actually behind the rear wall of the 2nd storage area, between the storage area and the wheel well. I could barely see it thru a small gap at the top of the rear wall panel.
Another of those "I wish the engineers had to fix it."

Thanks grtharris, very much appreciated. I had literally covered ever inch of the interior looking for that gizmo. AND I did look in the bay compartments, but I was looking for something that would be reasonably visible. The compartment dimensions are deceiving to the eye. there is a false wall in the back of the compartment and yes you can see the controller. Who in the right mind would install such a critical piece of equipment in such difficult place. Hope I never have to use it now that I know where it is and if I have to, I hope I can still twist myself around on my head, read the controller and then extract myself. LOL, think I will invest in a mirror.
Thanks for the responses everyone, take care
Dick
