Sloppy Dash A/C - Heater Vents - 2002 35U
Has anyone figured out a way to fix sloppy dash air vents? On my 2002 Suncruiser 35U (Workhorse) they don't want to hold their position.
I know the old adage, if it's supposed to move and doesn't, use WD40. If it's not supposed to move and does, use duct tape.
I know I could use duct tape but it would be pretty ugly.
Suggestions?

Wandering around in the parts catalog, I came across some info that might let you order new---if this looks like what you have?
https://www.winnebago.com/Files/File...CA/2ifg35u.pdf
Way down on pages 166 and 167, it looks like two different types at number 7?
Maybe the easy way out is to replace them?
Duct tape tends to not add class! Works for the guys but the wife tends to fight it.

That gives me an idea. They probably pop out easily so I can just add some bulk to the pins. I have a couple of options in mind on how to do this including the "super glue and baking soda trick":

Could you just put a self adhesive felt disk or two on the sides on the part in the dash or the part of the duct that is inside the dash? Can buy a package at a dollar store or harbor freight or etc.

Good idea. I have a bunch of those. Why didn't I think of that?

Good idea but not enough clearance.

I love that superglue & baking soda build-up idea.
Another way would be to wrap a few strands of dental floss around the pivot points, and tie it off.

My 36G Meridian had leaking vacuum which caused vent door issues. Turned out to be the controller on the dash. Replaced - fixed!

I would suggest popping the moveable part out of the dash and super-glueing a small o-ring over the pivot point, should provide the needed friction.
