Tap, Tap in passenger wall by the bed.
We are running a 2004 Journey 36G. I have noticed when we use the fan in the on position there was an inconsistant light tap, tapping sound from inside the wall on the passsenger side about where the plug ins are on the wall beside the bed. Could the vent pipe be moving around or a loose wire in the wall moving back and forth? Anyone else experienceed this?
Thanks

That's the area where the AC duct runs up to the roof. It might be a loose piece of tape or insulation. You can see a good portion of the duct if you look up inside the rear cap from the ground.

We had an inconsistent tap-tap that we blamed on all kinds od things until we finally figured out it was the hard rubber end of the pull strap on the window awning hitting the window frame in the wind.

My ceiling fan makes a tapping sound, could it be the fan resonating into the wall?

Colemole:
First of all, there are no vent pipes in that location. The supply duct for the A/C and electric heat runs up to the ceiling in the back of the coach, on the pass. side.
The noise that you hear could be caused by any of the following:
A misaligned air filter, whch of course, is located under the carpet covered board between the bed and the pass. nightstand.
The awning pull down strap for the bedroom window that is rustling in a breeze.
Water (rain or heavy dew) that is dripping down from the awning rail and hitting the side of the coach.
Mice living in the space behind the night stand drawers.
Good Luck and let us know what you find.

We had that, and I figured that it was the slide topper hitting on the edge of the slide out. My old unit has a kind of a felt rub strip that muffled the noise.

I have this sometimes when running the fantastic fans with no windows opened and the fans are drawing so much air it makes the vent for the microwave shutter making a light tapping sound. I open a room window and the tapping stops.

We had a tapping sound in the bedroom of our Georgetown. It seemed to occur anytime someone moved around and stopped after about 30 seconds. It turned out to be empty coat hangers in the wardrobe swinging about and tapping the wall.

A sound like that can transfer and you will think it is in a different location than the real source. Check closets, cabinets, window, curtains and shades.
