valance

I have a 2004 Winnebago Adventure 35U and want to remove the valance over the windows. I can’t find any way to remove them, the fasteners are hidden.

Any help would be great! Thanks All

Not sure if your Winnie is similar, but here's a previous discussion about removing the valance in a Fleetwood. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f107/remo...ns-162575.html

I removed all mine. I couldn't find screws, so I just started slipping a flat screwdriver between the wall and valance just applying slight pressure until I could find the places that would not move. That's how I found the screws.

On mine the screws were in the top of the valence close to the wall. They went into the wood at the back of the cabinet (a stringer?) rather than the thin wood of just the cabinet. I used a Phillips screw driver to find them. There was one on each end and one in the middle as I recall.

I recently restrung our 4-string day/night shade behind our jack knife sofa in our 05' Journey. It appears as though the valance had screw mounts on either side (angle brackets) and also screws in to the ceiling. However, the shade had to first be removed to access the valance ceiling screws. So, I couldn't remove the valance and therefore I had to remove and reinstall the shade which made the process quite difficult. I could be wrong, but I saw no other way to remove the valance w/o first removing the shade.

Did I mention how much I hate those darn day/night shades?

cheers,
Joopy

As a added note, we threw away all the blinds and valances, bought solar shades and new valences from blinds.com for about $100 per window.
