Weight on Roof

We have a Suncruiser 38T. What is the maxium weight a person should be to walk on roof. Need to wash roof and it gets to be a pain to keep moving the ladder around the MH. I'm 250#, 6'4".

Shouldn't be a problem. I'm 6'4" and 250# also and am periodically on the roof. I don't jump up and down, but as long as I walk carefully, it is no problem. When you wash up there, make sure to watch your footing. The fiberglass will get slick when you put soap on it.

I don't recall seeing any weight limits for the roof but as for me I let my son get up there - he's a lot younger and has enough strength to do a good job. It's a real task for me.

It doesn't hurt to use a small piece of plywood to help distribute the weight.

I let my wife wash the roof. I told her it was to dangerous for me.

I do have pictures to that effect if I have to prove it!!!!

(Food for thought, men?)

Well... I walk all over my Damon Intruder 377

I am 6'3 and over 300 pounds (though I'm shrinking)

300 pounds, in fact 330 is no problem if the roof is in good condition (no rotted out spots) and if you do find a rotted out spot, then 33.0 will be a problem.

Try walking on it, if it feels the least bit "Springy" or "Spongy" you can lay 2x8 on it to walk on (or 2.6)

But my roof is a lot like my kitchen floor. I can walk on both

And when it comes to cleaning.. .Mop (Well car wash brush on the roof) bucket, Spic & Span, Water.. That's what I use

(I do the rinse on the roof with a garden hose though, instead of a 2nd pass with the mop like I do on floors)

in '99 ...

In 1999 we toured the Winnebago factory ... they had two rather stocky guys carrying the roof airconditioners from a platform across the roof and placing them in the holes ...

So my back of envelope calculations

==> Stocky guy ... 170 pounds
==> roof air conditioner 100 pounds

==> Load on roof ... 440 pounds ...

I would suspect the roofs today are at least as strong as those in 1999
