2000 35U switch question

A friend bought a 2000 35U. Just inside the door on the left as you enter is a switch labled ON AUX BAT OFF. What is the switch for and when would one use it in the on or off position ???

it's a disconnect for the house batteries, mine never gets used as we are always on shorepower while being stored. you would use it when storing without power to stop phantom electrical draws.

Fred is correct. I also found that my switch if left on while on shore power will dry out the cells of the house batteries. So I switch it off if hooked to shore power for a long time. Also my switch needs to be in the on position while traveling the road, or I can not use my dash radio.

Steve,
Don't you have a radio power switch on the dash to allow the radio to be powered from the coach or engine Batt? Possibly located in the cluster of switches below the radio?

Your right. I have this switch below my radio, but it made no difference, for me anyway, if the main switch by the door is in the off position I cannot use my dash radio. Weird my first Winny did not have this problem, but my new one does. Well its not a problem but I just need to check to see that my main door switch is on before I try to use the dash radio.

Steve, One side of that switch says house, the other engine. Both sides are fused separately. One is with the chassis fuses and the other are with the coach build-up. I chased this same problem for a while myself.
