2012 Access - TV in Kitchen (not working in 12V)

The Dinette TV and DVD work fine on 120V (generator power) while driving but not on 12V. The secondary TV in the bedroom works fine on both 12V and 120V while driving.

Obviously I would prefer to not use generator hours while driving... And I presume if the second TV operates on 12V than the inverter is working properly. The "switch" beside the dinette TV that is suppose to toggle between 12V and 120V does not seem to do anything. I am hoping it's something simple, but I am not convinced. I worked in the home theater industry for a number of years, so I do understand connections, etc. I was having some problems with the home theater receiver as well, but would like to get one problem fixed before I start another.

Thanks in advance for any help. Is there a fuse somewhere along the line that ONLY protects the receptacle that feeds the dinette TV and HOme theater receiver?

Brian

Did the kitchen TV ever work on 12 volt? If not maybe that outlet is not wired to the inverter.

I can't recall if it worked when I first bought the unit last year or not. It's definitely supposed to be wired to the inverter, and has a switch there as well to toggle between 120v and 12v. Unit is at storage right now, and I am hoping to get a couple of ideas before heading over there next week.

bachert77, There are several options for the TV in your coach line so beware I'm making some assumptions. A 300 watt inverter was an option, if you have one in is located in the drawing below and has a breaker and a on/off switch on the front panel.
With that said I assume the dinette TV is a 110VAC TV.
The TV in the bedroom is a 12VDC TV so it runs off the battery not the inverter.
Good Luck.

Interesting thought. So you're saying the TV in the bedroom is 12V, but when the Dinette TV is operating without the generator (or shore power) that it is actually operating through the inverter. That could make sense. Any idea if that inverter powers anything else?

bachert77, drawing only shows the inverter connected to the one recept in the cabinet above the TV.

And the plot thickens...

So I braved the 15F temperature to go and do a little investigating with the RV, and I learned (or possibly remembered) and few interesting items. The problem still exists and is really no closer to be resolved. Thanks for the few responses so far, and please (this board is littered with RV Geniuses) keep the thoughts coming.

1) The TV is actually a 12V TV (see picture). But once again only appears to work when the generator is running (or connected to shore power) -- not sure how that is even possible.

2) I did dig under the drawers where the supplied schematics appeared to show an inverter and in the "area" the attached picture shows the only thing that could possibly be it. It doesn't look like an inverter I am familar with, but certainly is possible.

3) The switch that is suppose to toggle between 12V/120V literally seems to do nothing.

Thanks again,
Brian

bachert77, It looks like the switch you are referring to is just a 12VDC kill switch to the TV and DVD it does not select between AC or DC.
Also check that someone has not replace the power cord with one with a 12VDC power supply build in that is plugged in the 120VAC recept.
If you had an inverter is would be obvious. Tying to think what is different between shore power through the converter and the battery. Do all of the overhead lights work when not on shore/generator power?

$85 for Trojan 105s? You rarely see them for less than around $130. Are we talking Apples and Apples?
