2023 Micro Minnie 1720FB solar charger question

My solar charger allows me to switch between battery types. Does that mean I can just upgrade to a lithium battery with no other mods?

It depends. Does your 2023 model have a Lithium compatible Converter installed? I know many new models do, I’m just not sure when they started installing the LFP-capable versions.

Check the model number of your converter and then check online for its specifications.

If your solar charge controller has a Bluetooth app, you should be able to specify battery type on the app. If it does not have Bluetooth, you should be able to select battery type with dip switches. Your controller manual should have instruction on how to set the switches. Tell us what the make and model of the charge controller is, and there’s an excellent chance someone on the forum has one just like yours.

You can upgrade to LiFePo4 right away. As Creativepart said, newer TT model will likely have a programmable converter/charger. But if yours doesn’t, you can still use LFP batteries.
