Anyone have a 2013 or newer 42qd with a Winegard and a King Dome?
I started new with a King Dome and want to add a Wineguard Travler.
I need 66"s for the WT and 28" for the KD. 94"s from the front ac puts me 16"s over the front cap and 4' from the front of the cap.
Any pics or input is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Jesse

Funny. My winegard is in the box. Arrived yesterday. Going on the roof tomorrow.
Does anyone want to buy a KingDome? It works great (all features works as well as any other KD). I have Directv and want to enjoy HD and DNS locals and no longer want to hear shuffling between satellites.
PM me if you're interested in the dome. I'm in Naples Fl but will drive a few hours for a few bucks.

Jesse,
Why do you need 66" for the Winegard Travler?
According to my manual you should only need a 44" x 23.5" footprint.
Does that help any?
I just removed the KD and considered it a learning experience. Man, what a difference being able to watch in HD!!!

Thanks!
Yes it does!
I can install the WT next to the front cap and have enough room.
Thanks
Jesse

Thanks to Craigslist, I no longer have my KD.
I couldn't believe the signal meters with the Travler. 98s & 100s across the board. With the KD I would see 80-95 across the board. Not a big deal but I bet the bad weather reception will be better (if/when I see bad weather again).
Now I have a note next to my slide buttons that says "stow satellite".

We too, have a 2013 Ellipse 42 QD and started with the Kingdome and now have the Winegard Trav'ler dish with Direct H34-700 HD DVR. We can record , pause and fast forward, but only when stationary. If exact Sat. Dish location is your concern, I'll be most happy to give dimensions of our's and photo's if needed. We like our Trav'ler system. Hey man thanks for the offer.
I am in Charlotte Nc. on a business now. I think of you every time my brother buys a new drone. He just got the latest one that can be flown inside. He was impressed with your videos and had to have one.
Thanks
Jesse
I did mount the traveler where the KD was.
Thanks

Problems with Winegard
I now have the 2014 tour and it came with the winegard traveler 3000 i wanted to upgrade to the Genie and Genie Mini but was told no can do needed to upgrade to the winegard 3005 traveler.
I had the RF Mogul dish, on my 2005 winnebago for 2 years and never had a problem and was very happy with it.
So last Mo. while in Quartzsite Az i traded my winegard on my Tour for the RF Mogal sat dish. and upgrade to the Genie and genie mini system now i have all the channels on every TV + can record up to 5 different shows i am very happy with RF system they have great support not like winegard i did not get much
help from them.

I know this is slightly off topic...but, interesting nonetheless.
I had a KD 9754 that came on my Tour and replaced with a Wineguard Travler SWM3.
I have Directv and two DVRs.
Before (with the KD) anything recorded on Sat 1 was viewable only on Sat1. Likewise, anything recorded on Sat2 was viewable on Sat2. If you wanted to watch something on a different dvr you had to change the HDMI selector. No big deal.
Now, anything I record on either dvr shows up in both playlists. No more hdmi selector to see recorded shows.
It's the little things that amuse me the most.

Yes! That is very cool that they communicate.
The direct tv guy that came out hooked us up with three new style remotes that we no longer have to point to use.
