Flexible Solar Panel Installation 2010 Journey 34Y
Hi, I'm hoping some of you have some insight from your experiences to improve my thinking.
So, I am thinking of adding solar to the roof but do not want to drill holes to mount.
Looking to use two BougeRV Yuma 200 Watt CIGS flexible panels rather than monocrystalline panels as a start.
My setup has 3 x 100 AH LiFePO4 batteries and 3000w Victron inverter professionally installed by echooneadventures in Albuquerque, NM in 2023 on
2010 Winnebago Journey Express 34Y.
I have read about the panels getting hot and damaging the roof if you flat mount them directly to the roof but saw where you can mount them using polycarbonate panels to allow for airflow and heat dissipation.
I have also read about structural silicone or sikaflex 522 as the adhesive bonding the polycarbonate panel to the roof while using the adhesive strip on CIGS panel for bonding the flat panel to the polycarbonate sheet.
Anyone have experience mounting them on a Winnebago filon roof?
Can it handle an installation like I describe.
Is there anything I should be considering that I have not asked about?
Thanks in advance for any insights you might offer.
Brian
