I'm the second owner of '02 Journey.
Can only get the fog lights to burn with head lights on, ignition switch off. I turn the igniton switch on, fog lamps go out, head lights
stay on.
Any help would be appreciated.

Larry:

Make sure you are not checking them with high beams on. The fog/driving lights will only stay on when you have your low beams on. Most are wired so that the fogs go off when you hit the high beams.

Larry,

I know the fog lights work on our Journey with and the ignition switch on or off, so long as the headlights are on low beam.

I've never looked at the circuit, but would check to see if there's more than one relay controlling the fog lights are working correctly, if ther's more than one fuse, than would would check to see if any wiring modifications have been made prior to your owning this motorhome.

You can go to, www.winnebagoind.com/resources/manuals/ to download diagrams.

I've had to troubleshoot a few strange problems in my motorhomes and find it interesting, in a strange sorta way, the way some of them are wired, fused, relayed, etc.

Let us know what you find...

Curiosity got the better of me, so now that it's warmed up to 20 degs, I went out checked. Confirmed that with the:

- headlight switch off, ignition switch off, and the fog light switch on, the fog lights are off (head light switch must be on for the fog lights to be on)
- headlight switch on, ignition switch off, and the fog light switch on, the fog lights are on
- headlight switch on ignition switch on ˜accessories', and the fog light switch on, the fog lights are on
- headlight switch on ignition switch on ˜ignition', and the fog light switch on, the fog lights are on (I didn't start the engine, that will have to wait for a warmer day)

I tried turning on the high beams, least wise I think I turned them on, and the fog lights remained on. I'm not really sure if the highbeams were actually on or not, tough to tell in daylight.

Thanks for the help.
I feel fairly sure I had the headlights on high beam. Will check today.
Great people on this site.

Most states require fog lights to be wired for use with the low beams only. High beams in the fog are disasterous. Glare coming back off the fog droplets is blinding.
