Fuel Pump Fuse 1990 Winnebago Chieftain

I own A 1990 Winnebago chieftain with a Chevy 454. About six months ago my fuel pump fuse kept blowing. I replaced the fuel pump I replaced the fuel filter and all new fuel lines were installed. It has run and started fine for the last six months. About a week ago when I went to start it it blew the fuse again. Today while I was idling in a residential area it blew another fuse.At this point in time I’m not sure what to do next any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Slwhite,
It sounds like you might have a wiring harness that has partially rubbed through the insulation and is shorting-out.
Welcome to the forum.

Thank you for the welcome and your response. I was thinking it could be a short, because you never know when it is going to happen. I have a manual that I got that has all the electrical stuff in it, so that’s where I’ll be headed.

If you can find it, terminate the wires and run new wires from the fuse to the fuel pump. However, it could be a bad new pump.
