Generator Hourmeter Question

At the display panel in the coach, on the LCD display, to the right of the runtime, there is a battery symbol blinking on and off continually while it is running. My Onan mobile genset operators manual, nor the Sighteer Operator manual indicates what this means ? It's an Onan 4k.

This brings to mind a question I have about the generator itself, as well.
Does it have a "dedicated" battery, or is it wired to the chassis or house set ?

Go easy on me, I am new to this stuff

Thanks in advance,
Steve

Are you sure it's a 'battery' symbol and not an 'hourglass'? My Onan hourmeter has an hourglass symbol on the left hand side which blinks when the generator is running.

Can't speak to the blinking light, but...

Our Onan 8K is started by house batteries. We once had those die on us while deep in the backside of nowhere. We found that firing up the Cummins would run enough juice through the charging circuit to the house batteries to start the Onan.
